Theresa Rose Sebastian is a 21-year-old climate and social justice activist from Kerala, India, who grew up in the rebel city of Cork in Ireland. She is a law student, organiser, and activist with over six years of experience in climate justice, focusing on building community and advocating for systemic change. Her activism is rooted in intersectionality and driven by her commitment and love to her people and the land.

Theresa’s climate advocacy emerged from her lived experience of climate change during the 2018 floods in Kerala that wreaked havoc across the region. She has participated in policy-making spaces, contributing to Ireland’s national climate plans as a key stakeholder and engaging in youth debates at the Dáil (Ireland’s parliament). She has also attended COP26, COP27, COP28, and COP29 where her work revolved around youth advocacy and fossil fuel phase-out. 

She is currently completing a degree in Common Law and Spanish at the University of Glasgow.
