Daniel Valdovinos (they/them) believes change is rooted in community, justice and collectivity.
For more than eight years, Daniel has been a queer environmental justice activist dedicating their career to grassroots initiatives, policy and conservation initiatives.
They are the co-founder of the youth-led organization Legado Gaia and serve as an Escazú Champion, advocating for access to information, public participation and justice in environmental matters. Likewise, Daniel is a member of the World Food Forum Youth Policy Board, working to promote equitable climate and environmental policies that support agrifood systems transformation and scale up local solutions for global impact.
Daniel has coordinated climate and biodiversity initiatives and participated in multilateral forums to amplify diverse youth voices in decision-making, particularly those of Indigenous and queer communities. Now as Executive Coordinator, Daniel hopes to keep on building the climate movement and strengthen climate youth initiatives across the world.
