Apsara Mitra, 24, is a Bengali-American civil servant (change to "former civil servant" after November 30th), aerospace engineer, computer scientist, environmental activist, and conservationist from Houston, TX. From her coastal neighborhood to NASA, Apsara has worked towards integrating innovation and sustainability, alongside circular practices, to invest in and empower frontline communities to develop solutions that work for them. She has gone on to serve the University of Pennsylvania Children's Hospital as a Climate Fellow, and NASA as a Principal Investigator, while also advising domestic and international technology and aerospace spaces on hazard resilience, space enabled technology, space sustainability, data democratization, and adaptation. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Environmental Studies and Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Computer Science.
