Isabel Mejía-Roberts, EIT, is a sustainability focused mechanical engineer with experience in environmental initiatives, engineering design, and cross cultural communication. She currently serves as a board member of Re-Earth Initiative, where she previously served as Translations director.
Isabel received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical engineering from Cornell University (class of 2024 and 2025). She also received a minor in French Studies and has an affinity for learning languages as they help bridge people together.
At Cornell, Isabel contributed to Cornell’s Hydropower Collegiate Competition team, helping develop a case study on integrating reverse osmosis systems into the Castaic hydropower plant. She specifically focused on transporting water to the upper reservoir. She was also a member of Cornell Sustainable Design, where she led structural simulations for a modular wooden bus shelter and supported design optimization for full-scale prototyping.
She is passionate about building practical, globally accessible solutions at the intersection of sustainability, infrastructure, and community impact. In her free time she enjoys hiking, drinking tea, and spending time with her friends. A fun fact about her is she played for Mexico at the U24 ultimate frisbee world championships in 2025!
