The Project

The project “Guardians of the Lomas de Pamplona” promotes ecological preservation and water justice in Lima’s marginalized communities. Led by CITE Ciudad Resiliente, it addresses ecosystem degradation and water scarcity through community-driven action. The initiative combines nature-based solutions, like biofiltration channels and rain gardens, with environmental education and citizen monitoring to restore native vegetation and improve living conditions.Art and culture are used to strengthen community identity and awareness, while inclusive participation empowers residents to become active stewards of the Lomas. The project builds resilience, fosters environmental justice, and serves as a replicable model for other peri-urban communities.
