Muyuna Fest is an international floating film festival in Iquitos, Peru, where cinema meets climate action, Indigenous rights, and environmental justice.Held on the Amazon River, it transforms the flooded neighborhood of Belén into a floating stage, amplifying rainforest voices through films, workshops, and storytelling. In its first edition, Muyuna Fest produced 15 short films, trained Indigenous youth in audiovisual skills, and gained global recognition from El País and The Washington Post.As a first-time grantee, the festival seeks to expand its impact by hosting new climate storytelling labs, strengthening cross-rainforest collaborations, and promoting cultural sovereignty as a tool for global environmental action.
