“Restoring a Sustainable Future: Serena Women Protecting Nature” empowers 35 Indigenous women in the Amazonian community of Serena to build resilience against gold mining exploitation.The project will establish a multipurpose community center serving as a marketplace, workshop, and safe gathering space. Here, women will sell local crafts and food, access training to enhance their livelihoods, and foster cultural and ecological restoration.By strengthening economic independence, food security, and education for their families, this initiative promotes dignity, unity, and environmental stewardship. It represents a women-led model of resistance, sustainability, and cultural preservation in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
