The NourishSacks: Empowering Families with Nutritious Sack Gardens project by the Wilmat Development Foundation (WDF) helps families in Bugweri District, Uganda, combat malnutrition and food insecurity through sustainable sack gardening.Using simple, space-saving vertical gardens, households can grow nutritious vegetables like spinach and carrots, even with limited land or water. The project provides gardening kits and hands-on training, enabling families to improve their diets, save money, and build resilience to climate change.As a first-time grantee, WDF aims to promote self-reliance, strengthen community ties, and create a replicable model for sustainable household food production.
