The Project

The Plan de Adaptación Ancestral al Cambio Climático (PACC) or Ancestral Adaptation Plan for Climate Change in Colombia’s Putamayo addresses the consequences of climate change affecting vulnerable communities in the region.Through a methodology that integrates ancestral, gender, peace, and youth approaches, together with the communities of Alto Putumayo, they built an Ancestral and Traditional Training School led by the wise elders of the region. The purpose of the project is to contribute to the cultural and sustainable strengthening of these communities, preserving their ancestral knowledge and promoting a more equitable and sustainable future. It strengthens their technical and practical capacities in agroecology for the management and conservation of the sacred chagras and promotes the transfer of intergenerational knowledge among indigenous people on issues related to the transformation of local knowledge and customs.
