Using the grant, Latinas for Climate will provide resources to activists throughout the thirteen countries they have an active presence in, to organize different in-person activities focusing on local and national climate action. These activities will include educational and capacity-building workshops in the communities or schools, cleanings, reforestations, summits, fixing a communal space and many other actions that will directly impact the lives of those in the communities where they take place. The project seeks to build on the group’s aim to create a more just and equitable society for girls, women in their diversity, and Latin American sex-gender dissidents through the extension of their role in the fight against the climate crisis, social and political advocacy, and active participation in decision-making at all levels.

Latinas for Climate is a Latin America-based international network that seeks to contribute to the fight for intersectional climate justice through the visibility of ecofeminist perspectives, climate education and empowerment rooted in gender, and projects that generate awareness and change in diverse communities.
