Cycleau is a compact greywater treatment system designed to retrofit below sinks, showers, and laundry units to capture and treat greywater for potable water reuse. It connects to exposed drain pipes and water supply lines to redirect incoming municipal water supplies through a point-of-use treatment system that removes contaminants.Cycleau reduces the water footprints of buildings by reusing up to 20% greywater for potable reuse, while also treating up to 80% of remaining greywater to non potable standards before it’s discharged into open waterways. The technology was co-designed in partnership with multiple communities facing water insecurities from water scarcity to drinking water contamination, and are continuing to engage their stakeholders across multiple continents as they plan for a pilot distribution.
From 2020 onwards, Noemi has been working to address the risks inherent to antiquated water infrastructure, synthesize her findings to develop a solution to an infrastructural challenge which can be deployed at a scalable rate while enforcing market paradigms for accessibility and affordability.
