In the biodiverse province of Pastaza, Ecuador, the Reforestation and Indigenous Women in Pastaza initiative is embarking on a sustainable reforestation project alongside indigenous women.The initiative is centered on researching native species and implementing a reforestation plan, empowering the local community through hiring and training in planting techniques. They maintain constant monitoring to ensure the healthy growth of trees and share the significance of reforestation through workshops and talks for the community. Through the grant, the foundation will support all activities of an edible forest reforestation project in Santa Clara, carried out by the Unión Base community in collaboration with indigenous women and youth, and for the acquisition of native seeds, plants, and necessary tools.
